On this tour you will experience the real Costa Rica – Visit Iguana Sanctuary then see how Bri Bri Indigenous peoples make chocolate and then swim in the Bri Bri waterfall with locals!
After we pick you up at your hotel we will first visit the Iguana Sanctuary, the Kekoldi Indigenous Protected Area, where green iguanas are raised to be released into the forest. Initially the project was financed by the government, but today it’s self sustainable and it is funded with the income generated by tourism.
The green iguana spend most of it’s life up in the trees, feeding from leafs, flowers and fruits. They can weight up to 12 kg and reach 2 mts long from head to tail. You will learn many more interesting things about iguanas from Bri Bri family that takes care of them, and you can hold a baby iguana in your hands or have a little iguana hang on your shirt…like you are a tree:-)
Then we will take you to a Bri Bri Chocolate Lady where you will get to know the secrets of chocolate making by Bri Bri Indigenous peoples and learn about the importance of cacao in Costa Rica!
Afterwards we will go to a beautiful waterfalls of Bri Bri, the magical place in the woods, where you can relax, jump and swim in the waterfall pool
